Address format

For now, Covage allows using only the setiar address database.

Covage database

It was created with the aim of being able to propose an eligibility copper or fiber from the same address, it’s a common address database. During the release of the API fiber, this system will allow to make an eligibility fiber from a copper endpoint or a copper eligibility from an OTP or from a BUILDING.

Note

An API v2 is planned including changes and the release of the API fiber which can be only used with this one.

Address structure

It is mandatory that each piece of information inside an address is included in the field provided for that purpose. By no means should data concatenation happen in a field; this rule is crucial for data quality and address processing reasons during the handling of access orders.

Writing street names

The operator should not include any mathematical or punctuation signs in the name of the street (streetName)

Street number

Despite the street or road number (streetNumber) being optional, it is strongly recommended to fill them in, since most of the times the address does include a street number.

In case the street number includes several numbers, the field should only contain the first number in the series. For example: for 38-40 38-40 rue de Paris, the street number to be filled-in should be 38.

In case the street number includes an extension like Bis, Ter, Quater or Quinquies - sometimes known as repetition index - the letters B, T or Q respectively should be directly attached to the number, without any spaces in between, and respecting the original case. For example, number 12 bis should be entered as 12B.

Similarly, when number extension is a letter - such as A, B, C, D, … - it should be directly attached to the number, without any spaces in between, and in upper case. For example: 15 a rue de Sevres. The street number entered should be 15A.

NB: The street number 0 is also used.

Floor

The format of the floor (floor) should follow the rules below:

  • positive and null values should be entered as two digit numbers; for example, 00 for the first floor, and 03 for the 3rd floor;

  • basement-level floors should be preceded by the “–” (minus) sign; for example -2 for a 2nd basement;

  • non-numerical values, such as RDC or RDJ, are forbidden.

Address control

The address key parameters for order submission are listed below:

  • street number,

  • street code,

  • town code.

The local loop Operator checks that the street number, street code and town code provided by the Operator in the order (order for access creation or for access address change on an active or idle line) are identical to the information contained in the frame of reference for the local loop, which the Operator can check by referring to the eligibility service.

The local loop Operator does not perform any controls on the writing of streets or towns.
